Born in 1961 in Sibiu, Dan Perjovschi graduated from the Art High School in Sibiu and the Art Academy in Iasi. He is a visual artist, mixing drawing, cartoon and graffiti in artistic pieces. The drawings represent the artist's interpretations and reactions to current political, social and cultural issues. Dan Perjovschi has drawn and exhibited in museums around the world, such as MOMA (New York), Moderna Museet (Stockholm) Ludwig Museum (Cologne), Tate Modern (London), Aichi Cultural Centre (Nagoya) and Institute of the Arts (San Francisco). He received the George Maciunas Award in 2004 and the Princess Margriet Award from the European Cultural Foundation in 2012 (along with Lia Perjovschi, his wife). Dan Perjovschi plays an active role in the development of Romanian civil society also through his editorial work at "22" Magazine. The artist lives and works in Bucharest and Sibiu.
