Proiecție desfășurată în prezența: regizorului Kazuo Hara și a producătoarei Sachiko Kobayashi
Cerebral palsy patients are usually looked at with mercy and compassion by their peers, this also representing one of the reasons for them being marginalized. Because of their visible disability, there are certain socially accepted standards of relating to them, which leave aside their emotional or sexual needs. All these taboos are completely destroyed by the debut documentary of the couple Hara-Kobayashi, a real tour de force in direct cinema and the intimacy representation. As it is usually the case with their films, the “extreme” closeness to their characters is forced through a series of scenes that imply an audacious entrance into these people’s intimate universe. Other than the documentary giving them a voice, through which the characters automatically represent themselves constantly, they also create the context for an intense exposure of the most private feelings and thoughts – from revealing their sexual experiences, couples’ issues and until addressing some common problems that healthy people also have most of the times.
