INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY & HUMAN RIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL
RO
Emerging Voices

This year, for the 18th edition, OWR is starting a pilot program to support new voices in documentary film.

We invited filmmakers, regardless of age, who have not yet made their first feature and invited them to share how they see the environment in which they live and work, what interests them, and how they want to tackle the topics they find vital.

We want to generate context for them to get to know each other, we believe that solidarity starts with standing shoulder to shoulder, we want to contribute to the public and the industry discovering them, and we want to better understand their needs and where (but especially how) on this list a documentary film festival can be the answer.

We have created a program for them that includes presence and direct dialogues with international guests, networking events, informal discussions, but also a screening of their short films in the Extended Dialogues section, to which we invite producers, creative teams and other Romanian filmmakers, the general public and representatives of civil society.

The screening will be followed by a wide-ranging discussion that will have them in focus and will be followed by the facilitation of other events with our partners.

We hope that the project will generate the interest and effervescence we are aiming for and lead to the creation of an extended network of long-term support.
