Lindy-Lou Wells, a 65 year-old resident of Mississippi who carries, as we discover casually in the film, at least two guns in her car, sets off on a strange expedition to exorcise an episode from her past. Twenty years before, Lindy-Lou was a jury member in a trial that sentenced Bobbly Wilcher to death - a sentence carried out about a decade ago. Now Lindy-Lou has doubts. So, together with French director Florent Vassault she sets out through the American South to look for the other jurors - in fact, for the consciousness of middle America.
