WOOD is a film about forests exploitation, about the people from the North, South, East and West of Romania who live off them and about a man who sets out on a journey to save the forest and secretly, the world. Alexander von Bismarck, the direct descendant of the “Iron Chancellor” of Germany, is an environmental activist who uses different methods of fighting the illegal logging phenomenon. The story begins with a great love for nature and with a few considerations on capitalism or “consumer democracy” in Romania. Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan presents a 26-minute extract of the film and will be present to debate this hot topic with other experts and activists.
