Four young couples from four corners of Europe – Tallinn, Seville, Dublin and Thessaloniki – expose their vulnerabilities and, by extension, the fragility of the continent they inhabit. Impeccably constructed images explore with at times shocking, but always refreshing frankness the meaning of love under the darkened clouds that lurk over Europe: the economic crisis and the migration crisis, inertia and the need for political protest, alienation, addiction, and other contemporary maladies. Small moments of extreme intimacy accumulate into a composite image of a generation and a wider picture which should not be mistaken for a thesis: Europe is a conglomerate of sentiments which stubbornly survive despite or perhaps because of the precariousness of the world we live in.
