Settling in a new country is often a new beginning. A positive thing. But for an Armenian family who won the right to move to the United States in a visa lottery, moving to a new country is just a trap. From a distance, the American dream as it appears in movies and on television seems closer within reach than it is in reality. Rich home video archives reveal the gradual transition from hope to disappointment, as the Armenian family realizes it is blocked in perpetual exile. This melancholy meditation on identity, culture, and ideology is part of a five-film series on the Armenian diaspora by Director Harutyun Khachatryan.
