24 October 2015. A beautiful autumn day. A long line of refugees, escorted by armed soldiers and police officers, make their way from the Schengen border between Croatia and Slovenia towards a reception centre in Brežice. For the entire duration of the film, the fixed position of the camera forces us to confront them – and their number. In 2002, film-maker Damjan Kozole shot a fiction film on the exact same border, about two traffickers smuggling people into the European Union. The circumstances have changed in the meantime.
