Anoosh and Arash are two DJs who live in Iran. They call themselves “Blade and Beard” and are at the heart of Tehran’s underground techno scene. In a country ruled by a system that forbids almost all musical expression, especially if it is deemed “Western” and therefore Satanic, they struggle to find a printer for their unapproved CD cover and to convince the staff at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance that there is nothing wrong about a female lead singer with piercings. Occasionally, the duo perform at techno rave parties organized in the desert under extremely dangerous circumstances, trying to avoid getting raided and arrested. When they receive an invitation from the biggest techno festival in the world, the two young men find themselves in the situation of finally being able to take decisions about their future as musicians.
