Zanda lives in poverty and misery at the outskirts of an isolated village in Lithuania. Her children, whom she has from an incestuous relationship with her jailed brother, risk being taken by the authorities if she can`t provide for them. We follow her through an entire year as her life deepens with a fierce sense of realism, while her children`s father remains detained, in a promiscuous life filled with brutal figures with whom she is in a permanent conflict.
