Once every twenty years Kosinj region of Croatia becomes a huge lake due to torrential rain and snow meltdown. The only means of transportation and therefore of communication with the rest of the world that remain are provided only by a few boats.
In 2010 two volunteer ferryman keep their community in contact with the outer world by carrying people and goods over this disaster struck area; disaster that might be seen either as the result of divine punishment, administrative indifference or the locals` stubbornness.
