Contemporary society is hopelessly smitten by the constant need of labour efficiency, the immediate proof of success and mandatory happiness in social interactions. Eva Stotz's movie records her fathers' testimony, blotted out from the activities of the company where he worked for 40 years, isolated for 9 months in an office where he is given no tasks, and left aside by his old work mates. In order to illustrate the new mentality that characterizes profit and work achievements, the German filmmaker explores the absurd requirements to which various employers must take part in, or for which they have to attend specialized courses.
