A young Indian woman donates her hair to a temple, the only valuable she can offer in exchange for divine blessing and the respect of the community, a group of women is hired for trimming and cropping the hair, all that for the hair to be finally bought by the Italian company “Great Lengths”, renowned worldwide for selling hair extensions, including to Indian businesswomen. The movie follows this strange itinerary, illustrating ironically and with many subtleties the facets of globalization, not only as a representation of borrowing values and norms, as it is in the case of westernizing Indian beauty, but also the efficient harmonization between market and tradition.
