In 1971, the Viennese artist Otto Mühl establishes the Friedrichshof community which had the purpose of denying society, marriage and private property. This controversial project was advocating total sexual emancipation, collective children’s education and eradication of any family connection. All this is exhibited in various happenings and artistic experiments, under the careful guidance of the absolute monarch Otto Mühl, who will be imprisoned for 7 years on charge of sexual abuse against minors. The film rewrites the Friedrichshof history from the children’s point of view, based on the memories of five kids (one of them being Mühl’s own son) and footage from the monumental archive possessed by the community, which ended its activity in the early 90’s.
