In June 2009, the Green Revolution hasn’t come up on the winning side. Ava is a young depressive woman. Teheran’s oppressive and repressive regime, led by Ahmadinejad, can be vanquished through the democratic power of the electorate supporting Musavi, the opposition leader. Yet, with every passing day, as the date of the election approaches, Ava’s hopes dwindle. After the authorities ban her theater play and her psychologist recommends physical labor as an anti-depressive treatment, Ava goes out on the streets and talks with people that have been fervently protesting for days and strongly believe in the possibility of change. The movie oscillates between fiction and documentary and includes fragments of Ava’s play and snippets of socio-philosophical essay interlaced with images from the repression that followed the elections.
