Craiova seen from the carriage - is the first of a series of films built exclusively by montage of still images - in this case, photography, in other cases, painting. After the publication of the volume oLa lilieci (Marin Sorescu, 1973), Mesaroş plans a series of films that visualize Sorescu's poems that appeared in that volume – the case of the poem that is the basis of the film included here. Sorescu is initially skeptical, but later, delighted by the film's original formula, agrees to appear in a short segment mounted in the pre-credits of the film, in which he reads the opening lines of the poem. Due to a case of professional rivalry - according to the director, a member of the Socialist Culture and Education Council manages Sorescu's success with difficulty - the segment will have to be removed from the final version of the film. For the same reason, the Sorescu series will be interrupted with no chance of resuming.
