In a conservative society, where the image of the Arab man is associated with the “Abduction from Seraglio” wall rug from our grandparents’ walls, finding civic tolerance can be a difficult task. The film’s authors choose the participatory pathway and befriend Ammar, a Romanian speaking Syrian refugee who is about to finish his dentistry studies in Bucharest, and thus offering another perspective: the film is based on a visual formula that captures circular fragments from Ammar’s reality, symbolizing a lighthouse which lights the chance to a normal life.
